My focus is to assist those in the grieving process to survive their pain of loss resulting from death. As a country and individually we mourned our losses throughout hurricane Katrina, Columbine, and 9/11, as well as mourning remarkable individuals such as Christopher and Dana Reeve and Mattie Stepanek. We mourn to remember, to honor and to heal. In December of 1999, my mother passed away in her sleep most unexpectedly. She was 68 years of age and frankly, I recall telling her afterwards she couldn"t go because I wasn"t done with her yet. At that time I watched my father crumble in despair after 43 years in marriage together. I have watched my sisters also as well as other relatives grieve and learned from my own comparison that everybody grieves in their own way, own length of time and on their own level of phases. Some withdraw from society, others are strong enough to reach out for support in live contact meetings or in online forums anonymously. As I have grieved over the years, I found it difficult to go to a single location for support that was convenient, knowledgeable and emotionally supporting. This is why I have created and founded "Comfort when Grieving." In death, I have lost not only my mother but other relatives, friends and pets as well. Their deaths occured from health issues to natural causes to disease and two were murdered. Grieving has been in no way an easy tribulation in my life but a necessary acceptance to move on.
